Brockport Sweeps Weekly Diving Awards
MEN’S DIVING – Brockport
Chris Austin (Middlesex, NY/Naples), senior
Chris Austin placed an NCAA qualifying score of 482.15 on the 3-meter board at the Oswego Diving Invitational to break the old school record set in 2010. The previous record was 470.20 and Austin's previous personal record was 411.00 set in 2011. Austin's score was the top score at the invitational, taking first place by almost 50 points. Austin also scored an NCAA qualifying mark on the 1-meter board with a score of 442.15, good for second place. The score is third best in school history, and second best in his career. Austin posted a score of 452.50 in 2011.
WOMEN’S DIVING – Brockport
Marcy Merritt (Sherwood, WI/Kaukaunna), freshman
Marcy Merritt set two career-highs competing at the Oswego Diving Invitational. Merritt scored a career-best score of 381.35 on the 3-meter board to finish in first place. Merritt also came in second place on the 1-meter board with a personal-best score of 349.65.
MEN’S SWIMMING – N/A
The men’s swimming and diving teams were off last week and will be participating in the SUNYAC Championships on February 9-11.
