Eleven SUNYAC Teams Recognized by USTFCCCA
 Men's
Congratulations are in order for four State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) men's track and field teams that have made national news in the Division III Top 25 U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) week one rankings. The Buffalo State Bengals lead the charge in the rankings at number 18. They are led by senior Ray Richardson who is ranked number 11 nationally in the triple long jump.Â
The Cortland Red Dragons are next in line at number 19 after finishing in sixth place at the Cornell Upstate Challenge. Freshman Connor Christopherson broke the school record in the heptathlon at the event as it was last set back in 2006. SUNY Cortland is also being recognized for being number one in the Atlantic Region top ten. Â
The last SUNYAC School who is in the top twenty five is SUNY Oneonta as they grab the final spot in the national rankings; they are also number two in the Atlantic Region. Oneonta competed in both the NYU Team Challenge and the Hamilton College Continental Invitational this past weekend. Juniors Patrick Weinert and J.D. Roth were both in the top tiers in weight throwing and shot put events with Weinert and Roth finishing first and second in weight throwing respectively.Â
Â
Other SUNYAC men's teams who are ranked in the top ten in the Atlantic Region are Geneseo at number three, Fredonia State at number five, and Brockport closes out all the SUNYAC schools in the top ten at number eight. All these teams deserve a round of applause for cracking the top 25 nationally, as well as being in the top ten in the Atlantic Region. Â
Each team is getting themselves and the SUNYAC Conference noticed because of their efforts, as we can continue to cheer them on for more success in weeks to come.
Women's
The Cortland Red Dragon's women's track and field team has made the top 25 rankings for Division III. They are number 15 in the rankings and are the only SUNYAC School nationally ranked. It is a big accomplishment to be ranked nationally and the Dragons will hope to remain there. Taylor Hudson a junior at Cortland was SUNYAC track and field's women of the week, she also is ranked ninth nationally in the high jump.  Cortland is also being recognized for being in the top ten in the Atlantic Region as they are number two in the region after week one.Â
Other SUNYAC women's teams who made the top ten regional rankings are Geneseo at number five, Fredonia State at number six, followed closely by Brockport at number seven. SUNY Oneonta is the final SUNYACwomen's team ranked in the Atlantic Region at number ten. All teams and schools should be proud of the hard work and dedication they have done to get where they are.
