SUNYAC announces athletes of the week for the week ending April 20
The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announces its Athletes of the Week with just one week of regular season play remaining. These athletes have been selected for their outstanding performances in their respective sport during the week of April 14-20.

P.J. Rinaldi, Cortland Bethel, CT / Bethel View Full Bio Rinaldi batted .471 (8-for-17) in a 4-1 week for Cortland as the Red Dragons clinched the SUNYAC regular-season title. In a three-game sweep at Oneonta, he was 6-for-10 with a homer, three RBI and two steals. Earlier in the week, Rinaldi was 2-for-4 with a double and RBI in a 4-0 win over Oswego. |

Andrew Grann, New Paltz Oceanside, NY / Oceanside View Full Bio Senior pitcher Andrew Grann pitched a complete-game gem, to become the school's all-time leader in wins, shutting out SUNY Plattsburgh, 1-0, in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) play on Friday afternoon. Grann was absolutely masterful, tossing a three-hitter to notch his 17th career victory for the Hawks. He struck out seven Plattsburgh batters, allowed just three hits and just one walk. |

Sabrina DeAngelis, Oneonta East Meadow / Kellenberg Memorial View Full Bio DeAngelis went 3-0 this past weekend including two complete game shutouts. In the three games, she allowed just three hits while striking out 14 batters. She leads Oneonta with 11 wins and has a 1.92 ERA. |

Andrea Schell, Brockport Glen Gardner, NJ / Voorhees View Full Bio Andrea Schell continued to power the Golden Eagles on offense, helping Brockport finish the week 5-1. Against St. John Fisher, Schell ripped two home runs as Brockport came from behind in both games for wins. In game two against Geneseo, Schell helped the Golden Eagles end the game in six innings with a two-run home run to put Brockport up by eight. She finished the week 11-for-18 with eight runs, seven RBI's, two doubles and three home runs. |

Scott Tota, Cortland Webster / Webster Schroeder View Full Bio Tota helped guide #7 Cortland (12-3, 5-0 SUNYAC) to a pair of wins last week as the Red Dragons clinched at least a share of the SUNYAC regular-season title and earned the top seed in the upcoming conference tournament. In a 12-9 win at Nazareth on Wednesday, Tota stopped 13 shots. He followed up with 10 saves, allowing four goals, through three quarters in a 21-8 victory at Brockport on Saturday. For the week, he recorded a 7.43 GAA and a .639 save percentage as he raised his record to 11-3 on the season. |

Nick Giampaolo, Oswego Setauket / Ward-Melville View Full Bio Nick Giampaolo finished with four points, going for three goals and one assist in the win against Elmira. 15 different Lakers recorded a point in the victory against Canton, paced by Giampaolo's five on four goals and an assist. Giampaolo had four ground balls in the game. In the close match against SUNY Geneseo, Giampaolo had three goals and one assist. His third goal brought the Lakers to 10-9 with 2:48 to play but they struggled to tie it up before the minutes ran out. |

Nikki Greco, Oswego Syracuse / West Genesee View Full Bio Nikki Greco made 11 saves to get the win and extend her record to 9-3 in the victory against Potsdam. Greco made 11 stops in goal for Oswego while also tying for the team lead with three ground balls against Geneseo. In the tight match against Brockport, Greco made nine saves, including four in the second half. |

Erica Geremia, Cortland Camillus / West Genesee View Full Bio Geremia helped guide the second-ranked Red Dragons to a 3-0 week, improving the team's record to 15-0 overall and 6-0 in the SUNYAC. In a 15-12 win at #19 St. John Fisher on Thursday, Geremia scored five points on two goals and three assists. She followed up with a game-high five points on two goals and three assists in a 22-5 victory versus New Paltz on Saturday. Geremia concluded her week with a game-high six points on four goals and two assists as Cortland knocked off #1 Salisbury, 12-8, on Sunday. The Red Dragons extended their home winning streak to 50 games with the win, while ending Salisbury's 39-game winning streak. For the week, she scored 16 points on eight goals and eight assists and leads Cortland in goals (37), assists (49) and points (86). |

Taylor Hudson, Cortland Victor / Victor View Full Bio Hudson easily won the heptathlon in a field of 13 at the Cortland Classic with a score of 4,571 points that currently ranks fifth nationally in Div. III. Of the seven events, she won six, including ECAC-qualifying performances in the high jump (1.70 meters; 5 feet, 7 inches), long jump (5.36 meters; 17 feet, 7 inches), 200 meters (25.77) and 100-meter hurdles (14.86). Hudson presently ranks fourth nationally in the high jump. |

Anna Dambacher, Fredonia Divernon, Ill. / Auburn View Full Bio Broke the Fredonia State school record in the 100 meters with a time of 12.29 seconds during preliminaries Friday of the Cortland Classic Invitational. It's currently the fastest time this spring in the SUNYAC and the 23rd fastest time in the nation. Her time was the best during prelims. She concentrated on the 200 meters the next day and won the event in 26.13 seconds. |

Glen Forsythe, Cortland Uniondale / Uniondale View Full Bio Forsythe won both the long jump and triple jump with ECAC-qualifying efforts at the Cortland Classic. His distance of 7.23 meters (23 feet, 8.75 inches) in the long jump currently ranks fourth nationally in Div. III and his triple jump of 14.70 meters (48 feet, 2.75 inches) is fifth on the national charts. |

Joe Carr, Oneonta Burnt Hills / Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake View Full Bio Carr was the leading performer on the track for Oneonta at the SUNY Cortland Classic. He won both the 100 and 200-meter dashes along with running the second leg of the 4x100m relay that took first place also. Carr won the 100 with a time of 11.41 into a pretty solid head wind. In the prelims, he recorded a time of 10.81, which was good enough to qualify him for the ECAC meet and is ranked 25th nationally in DIII. His winning time of 22.34 in the 200 into a solid headwind was just short of the ECAC standard in that event. The 4x100m relay reached the ECAC standard with a winning time of 42.84. |
