Five SUNYAC Athletes Recognized by ECAC this Week
Division III - Upstate
Men's Basketball Player of the WeekJustin Mitchell – Buffalo State College
Senior, Forward, Buffalo, N.Y.
The senior forward became the 20th Bengal to score 1,000 career points during an incredible weekend where he averaged 31.0 points and 9.0 rebounds in a pair of SUNYAC wins. Mitchell had a double-double with 27 points and 12 boards in an 89-68 win over Oneonta on Friday, and then scored a career-best 35 points in a 109-99 win over New Paltz on Saturday. He shot an astounding 73-percent from the field and also had six blocks in the two games.

Co-Swimmers of the Week
John Estanislau – SUNY Fredonia
Senior, East Longmeadow, Mass.
Estanislau continued his solid first semester with one win, two seconds, and contributions on two winning relays during the three-day Blue Devil Invitationals at the Steele Hall Natatorium. The senior's individual win came in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 52.79 seconds. He was second in the 50-yard freestyle (:21.67) and the 100-yard freestyle (:47.75). Fredonia State's winning 400-yard freestyle relay -- of which Estanislua was a part -- set a Natatorium and Invitational record of 3:09.88. Estanislau also was part of the winning 200-yard freestyle relay, plus the second-place 800-yard freestyle relay and the third-place 400-yard medley relay. The Blue Devils won the nine-team meet with 754.50 points, and Estanislau accounted for 90.5 of those points (including relay point totals divided by four).
Diver of the Week
Alec Fleet – Buffalo State
Freshman, Addison, NY
Fleet swept the men's diving events at the Monroe CC Invitational, also setting school and meet records, and NCAA qualifying scores in each event. He scored 307.70 on the 1-meter board, and 345.35 on the 3-meter board.
Division III - Upstate
Melique Garcia – SUNY Cortland
Senior, Watervliet, NY
Garcia finished third out of 66 sprinters in the 60-meter dash at the Cornell Relays. His time of 6.86 seconds is currently ranked first nationally in Div. III and is an ECAC qualifier.
Brandon Gnaschow – Brockport StateSenior, West Seneca, NY
Ganschow was a double winner in the throwing events including a new record in the shot put with a winning throw of 16.26 meters (53' 41/4). He also won the weight throw with a distance of 15.67 meters (51'5).
