Brockport set to host 2015 SUNYAC Indoor Track and Field Championships
The College at Brockport will be hosting the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Indoor Track and Field Championships at The College at Brockport's Special Events Recreation Center (SERC). The championships will be held on Friday, February 27 and Saturday, February 28. The events on Friday will start off at 3 p.m. and 10a.m. on Saturday.
Tickets for the weekend will be available at the door. The ticket office will be opening one hour before the meet each day. Adult tickets each day are $6, with children (ages 5-12) $3. All SUNYAC students are admitted free of charge with proper school ID. A two-day pass is also available at $10 for adults and $5 for children (ages 5-12).
The Buffalo State men took the 2014 SUNYAC championship with 130 points, while the women's championship went to Cortland last year, with a total of 130 points.
Pentathlon leaders are Cortland's Kayla Koelbel (3-14) and Brockport's Lucienne Ford (2930) and Marisa Gosdeck (2845).
Buffalo State's Shuntone Pricher has the best time (7.74) in the women's 60m dash so far this year and will look to defend her 2014 win. Plattsburgh's Jess Huber is second with 7.79 time this year. Buffalo State's Jazmin Dunham is third (7.80).Â
Huber is the top mark in the 200m dash, with a 25.05 mark. Jazmin Dunham has the second best mark with a 25.91 time this year. Buffalo State's Catarra Burroughs is third with a time of 26.01.
The leaders in the 400m dash are Buffalo State's Jazlyn Porter (58.05), Sasa Vann (58.15) and Cortland's Dana Kupiec (59.26). Vann won the SUNYAC championship in this event last year with a 58.36 time.
The 800m run has Oneonta's Rachel Shine with the top time so far this season, with a 2:15.26 time. Geneseo's Keira Wood (2:16.03) and Cortland's Kailyn Balzano (2:16.36) are second and third. Oswego's Katie Bott took the event in 2014 with a 2:19.29 time.
Keira Wood took the mile run last year with a 5:05.50 mark. She has the second best time this year with a 5:05.23. Cortland's Kailyn Balzano is first with a 5:04.07. Balzano's teammate, Kayla Blomback is third with a 5:10.21 time.
Brockport's Rachel Malone has the top time for the 3000m run, posting a 10:16.90 mark this season. Fredonia's Lauren Kotas (10:25.77) and Oneonta's Brianna McLoughlin (10:26.31) are second and third. Oneonta's Danielle Kennedy took the last two SUNYAC 3000m events.
Rachel Malone, Brockport, has won the last two year's 5000m run. Oneonta's Alyssa Drapeau is this year's top time so far, with a 17:44.81 mark. Geneseo teammates Joanna Castrogivanni (18:02.74) and Ashton Hughes (18:19.85) are second and third.
The 60m hurdles are led by Buffalo State's Jazmin Dunham with an 8.79 mark. Dunham is a three-time previous winner in this event (2011, 2012, and 2013). Cortland's Kenya Outram (9.08) and Buffalo State's Treasure Glymph (9.20) have the second and third best times this year.
Buffalo State took the 2014 SUNYAC 4x400m relay with a time of 3:58.35. This year, Geneseo looks to take the crown, with a season leading 4:01.56 mark. Cortland is second with a 4:03.01 and Buffalo State is third with a 4:03.12 mark.
Cortland is the 4000m Distance medley defending champion and holds a season-best mark of 12:10.82. Oneonta (12:11.87) and Geneseo (12:30.39) are second and third respectively.
2012 high jump winner, Cortland's Taylor Hudson, looks to regain that title after posting a SUNYAC season best 1.70m so far this year. Geneseo's Joanna Heath (1.65) and Brockport's Lucienne Ford (1.63) are the next two marks heading into the championships.
Cortland's Kelly Hugo has taken the pole vault the last two seasons. Brockport's Marcy Merritt holds the top mark so far this year with a 3.70m. Fredonia teammates Kristen Sawyer (3.46m) and Julia Schreier (3.45m) are in second and third.
Cortland's Taylor Hudson holds the top mark heading into the championship weekend, with a 5.68m mark in the long jump competition.
Buffalo State's Treasure Glymph will look to defend her 2014 triple jump win, as she holds this year's top mark with an 11.30m. Brockport's Alexandria Kober is in second with 11.16m and teammate Hailey Smith is third with an 11.12m.
The top spot so far on the year in shotput goes to Fredonia's Nicple Desens with a 12.82m mark. Cortland's Valerie Vancol is second with 12.58m.
In the weight throw event, Brockport's Anna Milliken looks to win her second in a row. She holds a 15.76m mark on the season. Plattsburgh's Amanda Gadway is in second with 15.16m.
Cortland's Melique Garcia has the best time (6.86) in the men's 60m dash so far this year and will look to defend his 2014 win. Oneonta's Joe Carr and Brockport's Dorian Hayden are tied in second with 7.03 time this year.
Garcia is the top mark in the 200m dash as well, with a 22.02 mark. Carr has the second best mark with a 22.34 time this year. Brockport's Zachary Brown is in third with a 22.51 time. Garcia took the 2014 SUNYAC event as well and will look to make it two in a row.Â

The 800m run has Buffalo State's Austin Becker with the top time so far this season, with a 1:54.64 time. Oneonta's David Bohunicky (1:55.05) and Connor Farrell (1:55.85) are second and third.
Cortland's Jarred Iacovelli has the top mile run time so far this year, with a 4:16.60. Fredonia's Collin Mulcahy has the second best time with a 4:18.31. Geneseo's Isaac Garcia-Cassani is third with a 4:19.25 time.

Buffalo State's Josiah Thomas will look to take the triple jump he holds this year's top mark with a 14.39m. Oneonta's Sean Mullen is in second with 13.95m and Thomas' teammate Mohamed Koanda is third with a 13.94m.
The top spot so far on the year in shotput goes to Oneonta's J.D. Roth with a 16.29m mark. Defending champion, Antoine Keels, Brockport is second with 15.95m. Oneonta's Pat Weinert is third heading into the weekend with a 15.82m mark.
