Shaughnessy Named NSCAA Scholar All-American
KANSAS CITY – The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced its 2011 Men's Collegiate Scholar All-America Teams with Pat Shaughnessy of the Plattsburgh State men's soccer team being named to the third-team in the college division.
Shaughnessy was also named to the 2011 College Division Men's Scholar All-East Region First-Team, which allowed him to be nominated for the Scholar All-American Team.
This is the first time Shaughnessy, who has a 3.55 grade-point average in Childhood Education, has been recognized for either award and was the only State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) player to be recognized as a Scholar All-American.

Shaughnessy is a three-time All-SUNYAC honoree and was recently named to the NSCAA All-East Region First-Team for the first time in his career. The postseason awards cap a career year for Shaughnessy who was the conference leading scorer with 33 points. Shaughnessy tallied 14 goals, including seven game-winners, in his final season. He finished his Plattsburgh career with 42 goals and 14 assists for 98 points. Shaughnessy’s 42 career goals tie him for fourth all-time in program history.
