Men's Soccer Names Co-Players of the Week: ECAC honors Josepher
Potsdam's Eduardo Figueroa (Rochester, NY/Dr. Freddie Thomas) and Oneonta's Dan Josepher (Manorville, NY/Eastport South) have been named SUNYAC men's soccer co-players of the week. Josepher also picked up ECAC Upstate offensive honors.
Figueroa scored game-winning goals in Potsdam’s home victories versus Oswego on Friday and Cortland on Saturday. He tallied the game’s lone goal in a 1-0 win over the Lakers and recorded a goal and an assist in a 2-0 victory against the Red Dragons. With the wins, the Bears registered their first SUNYAC weekend sweep since October of 2002. Figueroa leads Potsdam with five goals and 12 points on the season.
Josepher scored both of Oneonta’s goals in a 2-1 overtime win Saturday versus Geneseo, which entered the game atop the SUNYAC standings. He scored in the 82nd minute to give the Red Dragons the lead, then notched the game-winning goal in the sixth minute of the first overtime period. Oneonta extended its unbeaten streak to eight games with the victory and tied the program record with a 23-game home unbeaten streak, which started during the 2009 season.
