Second seeded Brockport carries an 8-1 record into the tournament, with its only loss against Oneonta. The Golden Eagles have been a constant in the post-season playing in the championship match the last three years and winning the title in 2009. Brockport will host the winner of a matchup between Geneseo and New Paltz in the semifinals on Nov. 2.
The Geneseo men's soccer team enters the SUNYAC tournament as the #3 seed after posting a record of 5-3-1 in SUNYAC and a 8-6-3 mark overall. The Blue Knights host the sixth-seeded New Paltz Hawks on Saturday at 1 p.m. on the Saratoga Field. The Hawks clinched a spot in the SUNYAC Tournament for the first time since 2004. Geneseo defeated the Hawks during the regular season by a score of 1-0 on a goal in the 86th minute on September 30. Both teams enter the tournament with veteran leadership on their side as each roster boasts 13 seniors. The last time the two teams met in the tournament was in the 2004 in the semifinal round with Geneseo winning 1-0 en route to the SUNYAC title.
The Cardinals enter the tournament as the fourth seed after posting a 4-3-2 record in SUNYAC play while the Bears have an identical 4-3-2 conference record as the fifth seed. The two teams played to a scoreless tie earlier this season, but Plattsburgh won the penalty kick shootout, 5-3, which is used as the first tiebreaker. Plattsburgh is making its 14th straight post-season appearance since the conference went back to a team-tournament in 1998, while the Bears are making their first appearance since 2002.
