Condidorio and Yurchak Selected Players of the Week
Fredonia’s Reilly Condidorio and Geneseo’s Ryan Yurchak have earned the Soccer Player of the Week honors after leading their teams to a SUNYAC Tournament quarterfinal win.
Reilly Condidorio scored two game-winning goals and etched her name in the Fredonia State record book in several categories en route to being named the SUNYAC Women’s Soccer Player of the Week for the second time this season. Condidorio netted the game winner with less than five minutes to play in a 2-1 win against Rochester on Tuesday. In Saturday’s SUNYAC quarterfinal game, the Blue Devils took a 1-0 lead in the 40th minute when Condidorio’s pass was headed into the net. Brockport tied the game in the 62nd minute but then Fredonia was awarded a penalty kick a minute later in which Condidorio was successful for a 2-1 finial score. With the two goals and one assists on the week Condidorio became the program's all-time leader in career points (82), career goals (34), single-season points (32), and single-season goals (14).
Ryan Yurchak, a sophomore forward from Geneseo, earned SUNYAC Men’s Soccer Player of the Week honors. Yurchak scored the game-winning goal with 28 seconds left in the first overtime to give Geneseo a 3-2 win over New Paltz and advance the third seeded Blue Knights to the semifinals of the SUNYAC tournament.
